As we come to the end of 2025, we’re taking a moment to look back at everything we’ve achieved together. This year has been full of progress, teamwork and moments that brought people across Pennine even closer. From wellbeing and sustainability efforts to colleague milestones and community projects, it has been a year shaped by everyone’s hard work and commitment.
We began the year preparing for Arab Health 2025, where we met with international partners and introduced our PVC-Free Suction Connecting Tubing. At the same time, we announced Safe and Sound as our charity of the year for 2025, reflecting our commitment to enriching communities, by supporting vulnerable young people across Derbyshire.
March brought our first opportunity to host the NHS England SME Forum, welcoming more than one hundred delegates to Pennine HQ to discuss innovation and the role of SMEs within the NHS. We also marked International Women’s Day with colleague activities and a session led by guest speaker Giovanna Forte, CEO and Co-Founder of Forte Medical.
Spring saw colleagues come together for a series of charity events, including Red Nose Day and our first Football Shirt Friday. We also took part in our Annual Spring Clean, helping to keep our site and local environment clean and tidy. In May, teams from Pennine Healthcare and Pennine Veterinary volunteered at The Ark in Ashbourne, supporting maintenance work and meeting the animals cared for at the centre. The month also included the Derby 10K, where colleagues raised further funds for Safe and Sound.
Summer began with our Cross-Trainathon, a seven-hour charity challenge that brought colleagues together, as part of our ongoing fundraising efforts in support of Safe and Sound. We also were delighted to be sponsoring the Derby Book Festival, supporting a session featuring parkrun founder Paul Sinton Hewitt.
The return of our Culture Club provided space for colleagues to share ideas about strengthening our employee-owned culture. Our fourth EO Day followed soon after, featuring special guests and recognising colleagues who have demonstrated our values throughout the year. In August, we celebrated our long serving colleagues at our annual Long Service Awards and saw continued success with our Release on Temporary Licence programme (ROTL), which was recognised by the Department of Health and Social Care.
Autumn brought educational engagement and community activity. For National Manufacturing Day, we welcomed students to Pennine HQ from John Port Spencer Academy, and Anthony Gell School for a day of learning, touring our site and hands on manufacturing experience. In October, we sponsored the Derby County Community Trust Awards Night, celebrating local initiatives that support wellbeing and opportunity. Halloween brought colleagues together once again with creative fundraising activities such as, fancy dress and a spooky bake sale, again to raise vital funds for Safe and Sound.
In early November, colleagues volunteered at the Derby County Community Meals event at Pride Park Stadium, offering support and conversation to local people during one of the coldest evenings of the year so far.
As the year ended, colleagues marked Remembrance Day through our Wall of Remembrance and a Reflections Video, creating space for shared stories and personal tributes. We also attended MEDICA 2025 in Dusseldorf, showcasing our capabilities in developing commercial partnerships, custom procedure packs and UK manufacturing.
December included a menopause awareness training session, offering practical information, myth busting, and guidance in a supportive and relaxed setting. The month ended with Christmas Jumper Day, our Winter Celebration Day, a charity raffle, and the annual winter party, bringing colleagues together to close the year on a positive note.
2025 has been a year shaped by teamwork, purpose and community. We are proud of all that has been achieved and look forward to continuing our commitment to protecting life, empowering colleagues and enriching communities in the year to come.
