Each year, Remembrance Day offers a moment of pause. A moment to honour those who served and those who sacrificed for our nation. At Pennine, this time of reflection holds real meaning across our organisation. It brings colleague’s together, allows space for personal stories, and reminds us of the communities we serve both inside and outside the business.
Over the past few weeks, our colleagues have taken part in two activities designed to mark the occasion with sincerity and respect.
Our Wall of Remembrance
From late October, colleagues were invited to contribute to our Wall of Remembrance.
Templates were made available across the site, and individuals were encouraged to share a message of reflection, gratitude, or remembrance. Some chose to write about loved ones who served in the armed forces. Others offered words of respect or included their children in the activity by creating some artwork to mark the day in their own way.
The display has grown steadily, becoming an area of thought where colleagues can appreciate each other’s contributions and reflect.
Reflections Video
We also invited colleagues to take part in a short internal video, sharing what Remembrance Day means to them personally, participants spoke openly about their personal connections, and why this day continues to matter across generations.
Coming Together in Respect
Commemorations like these play an important role in our culture. They reflect our purpose of empowering colleagues and enriching communities, reminding us that reflection and compassion are part of who we are.
Thank you to all colleagues who contributed to the Wall of Remembrance and to those who took part in the video project. Your messages, stories, and reflections have shaped a thoughtful and respectful tribute.
