Today marks the first day of Mental Health Awareness Week 2023.

This years theme is Anxiety, with the aim of raising awareness around the impact of anxiety on people’s mental wellbeing and the practical steps they can take to address it. According to Mind, ‘1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England’.

Last year, our Head of People and Culture, Mark Jones, conducted ‘The Big Talk’ which involved a 30 minute presentation based on Mental Health which you can view below. Here at Pennine, we want to foster a culture that embraces open conversations, understanding, and provides resources for managing our Mental Health. Our ventures this year in aid of Mental Health include:

  • The introduction of Mental Health First Aiders. By next month, we will have 4 accredited MHFA’s in the business
  • A significant investment in menopause with accredited Champions Training. This will also include training for all managers and ‘chill packs’ for those who experience it
  • The business wide training of Mental Health

We want to give something back to the local community, so have produced 3 White Papers, available below to download, which you can add your own branding and circulate to staff. These White Papers contain handy tips and advice on how to improve mental health, and we hope you enjoy them.
