It’s been a very busy month at Pennine HQ, with a lot of changes internally and an ever changing “new normal” for us all to get used to. One thing that hasn’t changed however is our charity work. When we heard that one of our local trusts, and fellow Marketing Derby Bondholder, Derby Museums Trusts, needed help with their PPE, we decided to step in, offering free PPE to help keep their staff and visitors safe. Here is the full story about the donation to Derby Museums Trust…

Derby Museums is a charity and supplying staff with masks and disposable gloves was initially a huge drain on their financial resources, although vital in order to keep the front of house team safe when welcoming and working with the public. Wanting to give something back to the local community, we offered to supply PPE for free, meaning that Derby Museum could guarantee adequate protection for their team and also for visitors who had forgotten to bring face coverings.

Janine Derbyshire, Head of Visitor Experience at Derby Museums Trust, had this to say: “This donation of PPE by Pennine has obviously this saved the museum hundreds of pounds which could then be applied to programming activities to enhance the visitor experience. It also ensured that it was of a high quality too which made staff feel confident they had adequate protection.”

“Donations like this are extremely important as it enables the museum to not only establish a great partnership with local companies, but also allows us to reproportion vital funding to our public programme. It also helped us to build on the public’s confidence and perception of our facilities which was especially important when we emerged from the lockdown situation.”
